Peel two apples. Cut each apple into 8 wedges.Monkey brushed the pie dough with butter, and both boys sprinkled it with cinnamon and sugar. After the 2 dough circles were cut into 8 strips each, Big C and Monkey wrapped the apple wedges with strips of dough. Yes, they were fun to make, but oh, so much better to eat. Yummy!

Grandma C and the fellas had lots of fun with a helicopter ride over Ottawa. Monkey recognized many of his favourite places -- the rapids we see on the way to Camp Fortune, the "Clock" (Peace) Tower -- everything looked like models. I had my surgery yesterday at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. The recovery is going well, though I have been rather ill from the anesthetic. This is a photo taken about 10 hours post op. Maxi is a foster dog from Sudbury. Her owner passed away and her other owner couldn't care for her on their own. So Maxi ended up at the animal shelter.Now Maxi lives with us. This year Heather bought the boys a racetrack along with the wii game that the doodle was after. The boys just love it! Monkey is behind the camera in these shots as they excitedly waited for us to put it together. We did try to get video of them driving the cars, but were not able to get one where one of the boys didn't excitedly exclaim to the other using their proper names!

The doodle has only thrown up the one time and has kept down mango juice, apple juice and some apple slices since then. He is wearing a fleece, daddy's fleece and has two quilts on him while he is snuggled in front of the fire. He can't seem to get warmed up. He fell asleep briefly in front of Toy Story 3.

So apparently the DVD/Blue Ray for this little baby came out in 2008...where have I been? I'm resisting the urge to buy this one and putting it in the boys Christmas wish list instead. We hosted out bi annual Halloween party this morning, what a RIOT!! The kids had a blast!! Grandma is SO-O proud of Monkey. Today, he completed a 5 km walk -- the farthest he has ever gone. Our team, Keeping Abreast IX, walked the CIBC Run for the Cure and Monkey's sign says he is walking for "Grandma." Big C's sleep is going markedly better than it was months ago. He's almost always staying in his room and the sticker reward program that we have going is paying off big time for him.
