'Boganning!!!!

The boys have been sooooo excited about winter and the toboggan hill. I feel that Big C asked everyday since about the beginning of October if it was time to go down the hill yet. Even though it was frightfully cold this morning we headed out after our morning in the pool. Here is Big C taking a turn going down the hill.
Not to be outdone here's Monkey going over the big bump. Here's a video of Monkey taking a turn down the hill:

Big C takes his turn too!

We only lasted about 5 trips before the boys were too cold. Let's hope that the forecast is a little more favourable over the break so that we can get out there many more times.
We did take a moment to celebrate our fun with some yummy cocoa that mommy had made us.
We love you mommy!

Silliness at H's place

The four of us went for dinner at H's place on the weekend. The boys were in fine form and it didn't take them long to remember how they like to spend time there.
Building forts from pillows.
Jumping on them and knocking them down.
They did however request that this time there were no' tickle monsters'.
No problem at all.
They're all yours next Saturday morning at 6 am.

The Kids Christmas party

Momma was kind enough again this year to invite us to her kids work Christmas party. Once again it was filled with fun, frolic, swimming, Little Ray's Reptiles and Santa
The boys were good enough to get on his lap, since he was promising presents. I do have to wonder if this doesn't go against our "streetproofing" efforts, but hey, what would parenting be without a little bit of contradiction!
Somehow Dave found himself with both Peanut and the camera unsupervised...Big C loves the Playmobil pull back racer!

Follow up on the cozies

listen people, this is December and I KNOW how to dress my kid warmly for bed time. We put him to bed wearing cotton long sleeved PJs with a warm fleecy cozy over top.I can't help it when, after we leave the room, he goes through the closet, picks a different outfit and dresses like a 1980's roller girl!
Oh man, the wedding photo montage is going to be like 30 minutes long!!!

Puttin up the tree

One more year for the fake tree...I keep saying that we'll get a real tree and then we never do...
Monkey putting up the toilet tube angel. You can see by the obvious effort that Dave is exerting that our boy is getting bigger and bigger. Give it a few years and he'll be taller than the tree!

Peanut in the hat

Take two things, one that peanut loves and one she has no time for: 1-the stairs and 2-a santa hatHere you will find dada constantly removeing her from the stairs and
Her removing the hat while
Monkey tries to get it back on. I really think he would like a little sister...anyone got one to loan us?

The tree gets one more year

Every year since we moved in to this house Dave has had his eye on the tree in the front of the house...to come down. Two years ago we even planted an oak tree RIGHT beside it to make it clear that it was not going to last. You can see the tree staked beside it.

It would seem that it is going to make it through another winter as mommy just couldn't bear to kill it *AGAIN*
So at Monkey's request. It is getting wrapped in multicoloured lights-all decked out.

Breakfast with Santa

This weekend was our annual pancake breakfast with Santa. Allthe usual suspects were on hand.
This year we made it a little more environmentally friendly by bringing out own cups, mugs, cutlery and dishes.
We even brought home all of our compost and put it in the bin!
The bopys ate thier fill.
Peanut had lots of fun eating oranges and pancakes.
The server eventually cut Monkey off...no more sausages. Merry Christmas everyone.
Oh yeah, Santa was in another room and we didn't bother going to see him...

Daddy's work party 2009

Tonight was daddy's work party. The big man at work got the bouncy castle again this year (though if you read the last post Big C was more concerned about there being a cake). That concern faded when the boys hit the front door. Here they are having a go at the bouncy castle:
Mommy got in on the action and looks fabulous doing it:
She made 'earthquakes' in the castle to the delight of the boys:
and any other kid that was around and wanted a turn:
After a good 35 - 45 minutes the kids finally lost interest (or had to wait in line, I couldn't tell), so they were off to make crafts. Here they are working on making mice / candy canes for the tree:
Here's them making cookies:
And then at long last Santa showed up. The kids flew past Santa's lap and were headed back for their last trip on the bouncy castle. Here's hoping that they sleep solidly tonight!
