Manly First day of Camp report

Camp started off with a meeting at 3 on Monday afternoon followed by games on the beach and BBQ dinner. Really, I'm not sure how you could miss with that combination!!
Big C was feeling pretty introverted and did not participate in the games.  He focused his time on digging and playing in the water.  He would do these things all day long if given the option.  Monkey and I thoroughly enjoyed playing group games at the beach.  They were designed to encourage social skills and empathy.
Big C enjoys building castles and then defending them against the ocean.

Near the end of the evening he buddied up with another little fella and they tried to see who could build the taller sand castle.

On Tuesday morning school oficially started for all 4 of us.  This footballer(?) showed up and we all had a good photo op.  I feel like perhaps this dude plays for a Manly team, but no one could tell me who he was.  Anyhow, we grabbed the photo op and I will mail a lollipop to anyone who can tell me who on earth he is.  I did manage to gather from the posters in the place, that his club supports the kids at Royal Far West...

Dave managed to break the toilet in the room that he and monkey are sharing.  He got completely soaked, as did the bathroom.  All I know is that he had to shut off the water at the main supply to prevent any further damage.  The custodial staff was able to fix everything while we were in our afternoon session.
Dave and I had a few minutes before picking up the kids from school so we grabbed a box of chocolate covered ice cream treats from the grocery store to surprise the kids with at the end of their day.  That went over about as well as you can imagine!
I can't believe how blessed we are to get to have this week to learn and grow together at the beach!

Sometimes building sandcastles (or watching hours of Netflix and drinking wine) is the best option for how you're feeling that day. He's got a wonderfully supportive family and that means so much.
The wind is howling here (although it was +2ÂșC today) and just LOOK at all the sun in your pics!

... and the lollipop goes to Grandma C. Tyson Andrews is an Indigenous Australian professional rugby league footballer for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles of the National Rugby League. He primarily plays prop.
