This past weekend mommy went away to Melbourne. While Monkey was away at camp, daddy and I had the house to ourselves. On Saturday, we went to the library and the local craft fair. Then we went to the Mudgee Show. My favourite part was the old fire trucks. Here I am in one of the fire trucks.
This truck was used for bush fires. They stopped using it because it ran on petrol. New trucks run on deisel and are more safe because deisel is less flammable than petrol. So they run a smaller risk of catching fire. The driver seats are on the opposite side than in Ottawa and the rural fire service trucks are all painted in orange.
Here I took a photo of
Here is the part of the Mudgee show where everything is made out of lego. Some people cheated and followed instructions while other people didn't follow the instructions and made better stuff.
We found a 1959 Cadillac El Dorado with a 1952 camper behind it. We were allowed inside to look around. It was very small and cramped inside. Daddy could NOT stand up straight.
There were heaps of old cars.
and trucks.
Sunday morning we had chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes the size of our heads. They were DELICIOUS!
We brought Jess the neighbour's dog over for a visit.
Have a nice time in Canada!

Hi Big C, this looks like your perfect day -- a big truck, lots of hands-on activities, and blueberries in your pancake. I am so happy for you. When I visit you in June, let's try to have great days like this.
AWESOME: "Some people cheated and followed instructions while other people didn't follow the instructions and made better stuff."
Uncle Jonathan, my brother, has always had a passion for anything related to cars and trucks, especially vintage ones. In fact, family lore says that "car" was the first word he spoke. He owns vintage trucks,AND and trailer similar to the one in the blog. He said,
"By coincidence, the second email this morning was from the person who organizes one the vintage trailer meets we attend, announcing this year's event. The '59 Cadillac and trailer would have fit right in. Don't recognize the old cars, but the one truck looks like a Studebaker, but with a different grille."
