Big C Made Super Yummy Tomato Salsa

Big C has transitioned beautifully to his new school. He checks his lunch bag every morning as if allowing someone to valet park it for him and he runs off to play. They have been talking a lot about tomatoes this past month and that culminated this week with all of the children making tomato sauce and tomato salsa.

Every child came home with some and we honoured the occasion by having it on tacos on Saturday night-yummy!! Big C loved it so much he essentially ate it right out of the jar!!

We are so thrilled with his school and how much fun they are having!

So far so good this morning

BigC got dropped off at 7:30 at school. He was pretty clingy but went off and read the Y train book with his teacher as Dave departed. I got a call about 10 minutes ago to tell me that things are going really well.

Here's hoping that our little buddy gets in to a gret routine of really enjoying his school and his friends!!

DPoD September 6th - Big C loves school even more!

Today was another success. Mommy pulled up to the side of the building at the dropoff time and he was already excited because he could see the weather vane that he thinks is a train. It's really cute. They went in to the yard and he was pretty suspicious right away. He saw the other kids and the teachers and he knew that he was getting dropped off. He clung to mommy and they read the book from Y. Mommy tried to go and sit off to the side but he simply came with her. When she left he started to cry. She went around to the front door and she peeked out at him from inside. He had already stopped crying. He was still sitting with his teacher and they were reading the book together.

Soon after this mommy left and thanks to her good thinking for parking the car beside the building she did not have to walk past the backyard. He has a full lunch today and the expectation is that he is staying the rest of today until Daddy picks him up. Thankfully he will be dropped off tomorrow morning at the usual time as life hopefully returns to near normal.

Everyone at the WB household wants to send a HUGE thank you to 2 of our friends in particular. To Brigitte M, thank you SOOO much for taking Big C for the entire morning on Tuesday, Daddy's first day back at work. Thank you as well for loaning mommy the car to do her run on Wednesday. Both of these were absolutely priceless. To Rebecca D thanks so much for all of the support, for the car on Thursday and for driving mommy to work today. You're a great friend and we appreciate it so much. You both are phenomenal people and we simply can't say thank you enough. Big C blows you a BIG kiss!

DPoD September 5th - Big C loves school too!

Mommy took Big C into school this morning for re-integration. After a weekend of practice and a bag full of all the 'hot' items - featuring his book from Y that he absolutely LOVES! - they were off. There were a few tears after the original departure, however he was quickly distracted with the book and the tears dried up. He played well outside and then had a bit of
uncertainty when they moved indoors. After 5 minutes and 45 seconds (he was timed) of crying he settled in for some play. He was doing well and having lunch when Daddy picked him at the first chance he had. He ran right over and gave daddy a BIG hug. Then he took off to show me all the cool stuff they have at his school. The teachers commented on how well things went and they are looking forward to seeing him tomorrow. Ideally things will also go well tomorrow and it'll be normal days starting Friday. Keep up the good work little buddy and thanks mommy for all your hard work over the weekend and today!
