Today was the day!
I won't even pretend that my little phone takes great photos. There are many, many wonderful photos on line if you want to see her in her glory. These are just our shots of our little trip.We did not arrive intending to climb Uluru and we left feeling very confident that respecting the wishes of the indigenous people by not climbing was the correct decision for us.
So rather than climb we did the Mala guided tour and learned the history and stories of Uluru and then we walked around the base of Uluru.
We took many photos, had a lovely picnic lunch and listened to the silence. It was a truly incredible experience.
You definitely know that you've spent a day walking in the outback!
Tonight we are having dinner under the stars after watching the sunset over Uluru. We are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary here.

Happy anniversary :-)
Absolutely perfect! I had a brief introduction to Urulu while reading one of your copies of Australian Geographic Magazine and am pleased you have included it in your adventures. This is one of the VERY FEW you have done without the boys. Tom and I can speak to the value of "husband and wife" time. When you were little, we would take a week a year, just the two of us. Restorative. You just happen to have selected a breathtaking place to do it. Thrilled for you.
We had a wonderful time. What a blessing it must have been to have someone to care for your kids so you could take time together. We are so grateful to our friend Angela for watching them this weekend so we could go away.
Thank you! This one will certainly stand out in our minds.
