A trip to the "bubble doctor"

Monkey has been complaining that his hip has been bothering him. This went on for a couple of days and started to worry us. We knew that his family doctor (close to home) would not be able to do much but wanted to get him in to see his chiropractor (not at all close to home, school or the parent with the car).

Daddy arranged to take a half day off of work to bring Monkey in when Grandma swooped in on her white horse (blue jeep) to offer to bring him in. Small price to pay-she has no intention of returning him to school for the afternoon once the appointment is done. A deal was struck!

Mommy met them at the appointment today at lunch time and the chiropractor agreed that his pelvis was out of alignment and asked if he had been growing (a resounding yup). He said that the pain was related to roughhousing, growing and a lot of one sided use of his new scooter. The muscles in his legs have not caught up to his bones yet. He did a very thorough assessment and took about 20 minutes to be sure that he covered his bases.

Grandma asked about limiting activities such as soccer for the next little bit and the chiropractor suggested that Monkey continue just as he has been. He was even impressed with the level of sand coming off of his shoes and the bruises on his knees.
