Tree Planting

t was a little late for our Earth Day post, however I figured that it was time. We found a place that was doing a tree planting and were all gung-ho to go. Fortunately the place offered a continental breakfast for the boys. They each ate enormously!!! The boys had a muffin, some fruit, a yogurt and some juice before tree planting...and then went back for a second course afterward!
We were able to select our own tree and take it down to where the festivities were taking place. The boys brought their own little shovels (trowels) to do some digging and daddy brought his grown up shovel to get the real dirty work done. The boys were really helpful and very patient in making the right size hole, getting the tree in just right and then dropping it in. They were very proud of their work, as was daddy, and we were off to the refreshment area again.
The boys did a little artwork to make a project for mommy with lots and lots of 'love hearts'. I hope that she loves it. The grand finale was the paramedic station. The boys went over and asked very politely to get a picture (rather Big C did while Monkey was still putting more hearts on his artwork). Then they even got to go in the front of the chief's truck. I think that they'd have stayed all day if the weather was better. All-in-all it was a fabulous morning and we'll surely look for another opportunity next year!
