Monkey the Meterosexual
Monkey has always liked having his hair done. He likes to have it spiked up or have colour sprayed in. I have always encouraged this. I was busy getting ready for Big C's party and didn't have time to do Monkey's hair for him...so I showed him how to do it himself. I could not resist getting these good photo's of the look of sincere concentration on his face while styling his locks.

Pardon the cluttered bathroom! I had just given him a hair cut prior to our shower : )
The sleep over
For those of you who don't frequent our sister blog regularly, I invite you to make your way over there for pictures of Big E and Monkey's very first ever sleep over together.

Big C's Bithday Party
This weekend we celebrated Big C's birthday.
His friends were more than happy to come over and help him ring it in with him.

We had a great time playing on all floors of the house then playing parachute games, opening gifts, eating CAKE (big C's hands down favorite part of the party) and hot dogs.

My unfortunate selection of balloon decorations received quite a bit of attention and much snickering. Thank you honey for taking these delightful pictures so that I never forget how hysterical that was, sigh...okay...snicker!

A great week
Monkey had two rough weeks. Both two weeks ago and last week he didn't earn enough stickers to get his reward at the end of the week.
This week he did. in fact, he even got one more sticker than required. He only missed one, and hey, I am rarely perfect for five straight days either!!
Here he sleeps peacefully next to his new play house. I scored this on used Ottawa and rocking Aunt Heather picked it up super fast to be sure that no one else got it before us.
He is an unfortunate combination of both of our genetics. He is super hot ALL THE TIME, but loves having the blankets right up to his chin. That is sweat on the pillow under his sweet little head.

Very Patient Grandsons
A Monkey quote:
Grandma needed to go to a store to have some paperwork done -- BORING! -- and Monkey was with her. It took far too long, and Monkey looked bored, but instead of fussing and crying, he waited until we were outside of the store. He turned to Grandma, hands on hips, and said, "You know, Grandma, it isn't necessary for you to take me EVERY place you go."
And now to Big C:
We were driving past a construction site, and Grandma said, "Look Big C. There are some diggers." Big C responded, as patiently as he could manage, "Grandma, those are excavators."

The Construction Birthday Cake
It's birthday season around here and this time it is Big C's turn.
I wont even try to top last year's Mater Cake. We know that construction is another big love, so off I went.
Here Bob and the gang are right in the middle of a serious project. I don't think that there is an instructional video, but they should be able to get the job done.
They got stuck at the section with the 8 hole board but quickly managed to move on when they remembered that it is a G rated blog.

He's in
Thanks for all the prayers. After one last sleepless night Monkey has his arrangements for next year's before-and-after schooling all taken care of. We got the first spot available spot for his age group.
Phew!

I live in a house of silliness
Last night at the supper table Saje and I had a glass of wine after a long few days. I lifted my glass and offered a cheers to my wife. Big C jumped in with a 'trick or treat' as he held his glass up to ours. We all tried our best to hold in the laughter, though I still feel as though it was still quite the outburst of joy, followed by tears of happiness. God has certainly blessed us with a spectacular family.
Sunday Smile Update
Today's smile seems to be coming along very well. He is healing nicely.
There are a couple of doctors who attend our church so I asked one of them to take a quick look at the spot that I think isn't healing properly.
He thinks that it should heal okay once the swelling comes down all the way.
We'll follow up in a week to ten days if it is still not looking right.
Thanks Christy!
