Happy Birthday daddy!!

Happy birthday honey!! For Dave's birthday this year I bought him two new chairs for the living room. I'll admit that is slightly self serving since he only has one bum and can't sit in both chairs simultaneously *wink*.

We also got him a mug with the boys hand prints on it. Grandma really worked hard to get it ready in time (thank you!!). Here is a video of the best sound ever. Big C loves the chairs and gravitates to whoever is in them. If you want snuggles, this is how you get them!

He loves it and is having a wonderful birthday.

**Monkey doesn't appear in the photos since he wasn't feeling well and was laying down.

Big C's Bithday Party

This weekend we celebrated Big C's birthday.
His friends were more than happy to come over and help him ring it in with him.

We had a great time playing on all floors of the house then playing parachute games, opening gifts, eating CAKE (big C's hands down favorite part of the party) and hot dogs.

My unfortunate selection of balloon decorations received quite a bit of attention and much snickering. Thank you honey for taking these delightful pictures so that I never forget how hysterical that was, sigh...okay...snicker!

The School Bus Pinata-step 1 of ?

Monkey wants a pinata at his birthday party this year. Of course, seeing as how it is a Magic School Bus party we need a school bus. I can't seem to find anything even close without having it shipped. So, we're going to make it ourselves.

We went out and bought the stuffins for the pinata since you need to know what is going to be inside to determine how big it needs to be. Then we chose a Jumbo Cheerio box as the victim. It took a couple of tries (see the rejected boxes in the background) but we found an appropriate box to be the hood of the bus.
I secured all of that with duct tape and we're off to the races.
Streamers are very thin as it turns out and I'll need to cover up the cheerios box so that the writing and such doesn't show through.

Once I completed that step I wrapped the whole thing in yellow streamers. Monkey and I will finish up the rest together. We still need to put on all of the windows and the wheels. I'm pretty pleased so far and I hope that he will be when he wakes up : )

Monkey's 5!

Recently we held a birthday party for Monkey. Oh my how's he's becoming a big boy. Just the other day daddy was in a room with our boys and a few of their friends and he was wondering who the big kid was that was head and shoulders above the rest of the kids. It was Monkey. Daddy was blown away at how much he's a big kid now. Where did the 5 years go?
Here is Monkey with his family birthday party. Mommy made an awesome cake. Here it is being brought into the room by mommy:

And here's Monkey blowing the candles out:

The Magic School Bus Cake

We've had some fun cakes through this house. My all time favourite is still the Mater cake from last year (if you have not watched those videos recently you really should!!).

This year we are having a Magic School Bus cake. I'll try to get a photo of his face when he sees it. That is the WHOLE reason that I do this!
