Ok, so maybe the hope for a snow day wasn't the best idea. Why you might ask? Well, starting at about 4 am this morning there was a consistently louder banging sound occurring outside. I 
thought that it was simply someone's garbage can bumping into the fence. Upon further inspection the sound was eminating from higher ground. Our roof in fact. The siding at the underside of where eavetroughs normally go was peeling away from the side of the house. Needless to say 3 finishing nails over 12 feet wasn't doing the trick. I didn't waste any time in taking a before picture and instead reached out the window (to the amusement of several gentlemen waiting to catch the bus) and hammered what I could reach back into place. Currently it's holding, but it'll require some more TLC when the wind dies down and I get access to a very long ladder. 
As for the picture of the day, here are some of the cute moments from when grandma stopped by and Monkey tried to take her slippers (imagine some car chase or circus music in the background):
