DPoD August 7 - The rain barrel in use

So it took less than a week and the barrel was filled. Mind you, it had a little help from the game that we played after the pool was filled on each of the last few sunny days. We took little buckets and rushed over to the barrel, each dumping our loads into it. The boys had a great time and it prevented the water from just going onto the saturated lawn.

We did test out the hose attachment on the faucet to make sure that it worked too. The only drawback right now is that there's a little leak by the faucet since I didn't have access to a pipe wrench and a vice. If someone has a pipe wrench to lend me then I think I can finish the job with something sturdy enough to keep the faucet in place.

Here's Big C watering one of the trees. They each took turns going back and forth, using surprisingly little water from the barrel (the level dropped maybe 6 inches). Here's looking forward to giving it lots of use in the coming months and years!
