Dave's thoughts from Manly

I wanted to add some photos and thoughts from Manly. It far exceeded my expectations and it was a truly amazing week. First, I want to thank Saje for suggesting  pushing me to apply for the PD and the time off to go to Royal Far West. After attending and seeing the programming offered, I have come to realize what a gem the place is and am so pleased that I attended with the family for the 5 days.
Second, the boys were amazing. They truly loved the sand, the beach, the surf, the waves, the sunshine and the entire surf atmosphere that envelops this seaside community. They did a lot of bonding throughout the week and were awesome brothers to one another.
The Manly Sealife aquarium and sanctuary was superb. The boys got to see the penguins for the first time and are looking forward to Tassie when we get a chance to see them outdoors in their environment.

At the Toronga zoo, where Saje found a way for us to park for free on the street about 150 m away rather than pay the 17$ to park, the family got to see the duck-billed platypus exhibit. Big C was enthralled as this was high on his list.
The water stations that lined the beach front are one of the smartest ideas I've ever seen. You gain a whole new respect for clean water here in Australia and just how important it is to comsume it in the arid conditions. Being able to fill up your water bottle (every single person on the continent seems to carry their own everywhere) at your leisure is just brilliant.
 Monkey loved the sharks

Big C was hypnotized by the coral reef exhibit in the Sealife aquarium (and look - it's Dory!!)
I think that we could cruise the harbour almost endlessly. Here we are on the 'Fast Ferry' that took us around from Manly over to the Circular Quay (main port in Sydney). It was dreamy to see all of the people in business suits and dresses on their way home from work taking such a great way to commute.

Monkey posed for a quick photo in front of the Queen Elizabeth. It was truly enormous and looked very elegant.
and I think that we will always treasure our fish n chips on the beach on our last night in Manly.

Put a big star beside Manly on the map. It's certainly going to be one of our favourite memories of 2015.
