Travel Plans

Things are starting to come together in the travel department-yay! (that is MY department).

Beautiful flower in front of the house.
We are starting to make reservations and discovering that family members of new friends here are more than happy to come and house sit while we are away.  They are coming from the UK and we are leaving this gorgeous empty house-it's win win really!!

So we tried to get a campervan for Tasmania but they sold out.  Sooooo, now we are planning to drive to Melbourne, cross on the Spirit of Tasmania and then drive around the island then head back to Melbourne.  We are SUPER EXCITED!!

The doodle was understandably disappointed that the campervan is off the table for Tasmania.  So we put it on the table for the next big holiday.  I asked him to please do the research and find us the right campervan for the big trip.  That boy did a FABULOUS job.  He was so serious and so intent in his search that it was just adorable.  He whittled down the options and then presented his findings to us.  He presented the proposal to us and we are going to book the one that he found.  This is an formerly untapped resource!!  Now he wants to help research every side trip we take.  I am all over him learning literacy, research, spelling...on and on the learning will stretch with this!

The boys are adjusting well to school.  Monkey seems to be a bit slower to make some friends, so, as a default, he will go to his brother's yard and play with him if there is no one his own age.  the doodle had his "best day yet" on Friday.  We are pleased to see that it is starting to come together.

The internet is still down for us AND THE ENTIRE STREET, but we saw them working on it today, so we have high hopes that this will soon be resolved.  In the meantime, I've been squatting all over town to have my wifi needs met.

The doodle did himself in last night when he "tried a new jump on the trampoline and kicked myself in the face".  This kid has some strong genetic ties to his momma.  Sorry kiddo.

Doodle I love the camper you chose. Perhaps you could do some of the research for our trip when I come to visit. Our original plans might not work because the weather might be different. You might have some new ideas.

Oh Doodle, no coordination, but enjoys the OCD of planning.
And what about finding the best deal? Are the Scottish genes strong in this one too?

He stayed under the budget that I had given him. I did manage to finday the same campervan for a couple hundred dollars less from a different provider.
