First School Break Holiday Day 12-SPOT To Melbourne

We all slept reasonably well on the Spirit of Tasmania overnight.  I had arraged to have the best view on the entire boat for our family.  We were at the front of the ship in the exact middle and we were overlooking the front where all of the action is.

The boys sat and watched the transport trucks, vintage cars, motorcycles and so much more get unloaded as the giant ramps moved up and down.

We were all very hungry by the time we drove in to Melbourne and parked in our pre-reserved parking spot (it is $15 to reserve parking in advance, or upwards of $60 to pay the daily rate).  The building that we parked in was quite posh and had a gorgous lounge.  We set ourselves up and had a little picnic.

That is, until the security guard showed up to let us know that a big wig had called to complain that people were using the lobby.  The security guard was super cool and showed us where to find a public food court (right next door).

Here we are, post eviction:
The city has a free tourist tram as well as a free zone right in the CBD for the city trams.  We rode those for a while and then went on a walking tour of Melbourne.
What's a tour or experience without photos of us in front of stuff?  Here are the boys on the bean bag chairs at the Melbourne Goal.  I am so convinced that these chairs are a new addition since they were hanging people here.
Here are the boys dancing in a fountain thing.
Here's Dave reunited with his former and future colleague and our host in Melbourne.
