DPoD October 13th Part I - Free Day Shenanigans

For those of you who have been eagerly awaiting the update on city-wide 'Free Day'- thank you for your patience.
Saturday was an awesome day. We unloaded LOTS of stuff that was taking up sapce in the basement of the garage and sent it on its way. Such items included old rugby cleats and duck boots, a breadbox, a corner table, some beat up leather bags and a laptop case. Many items that have found their merry way into someone else's home - hopefully netierh in their basement nor garage.

And what did we score?

Well, a hardwood floor dust cleaner, an easy bak oven, a GT snowracer, some plastic trucks for BNK (see contest above), some 'T' bar for keeping new trees straight, some other stuff that Sunshine will have to help me remember and a ''teeter-totter spinny type thing'' for the kids top play on in the back yard that had the 2nd most interesting way of getting home. Note the use of jumper cables to secure the beast 'in' the trunk .
Contest alert-WHAT IS THIS THING? I will award a prize to the person who can find me the name of it and a picture on line to one, other than this one, that shows me what it is supposed to look like so I can figure out if I have all of the peices)

The best however is the one that got away. Sunshine and Sha-la-la-la were out and about when they saw a goalie net. A goalie net! The kids would love it for years to come. Soccer, hockey, invented sports that you just make up in your driveway. This thing had it all. But alas, it wouldn't fit in the car. That's Ok, they took the blanket out of the trunk and perched it up there with one hand out the window each. Sunshine was just about to pull away and tell me to have the camera at the ready when the mom came out of the house shouting' it's not free, it's not free...my son is just lazy and left it out at the curb'.

Now you just know that we'll never be able to pay full price for a hockey net. There's always next year's free day. Stay posted for updates on when that'll be.
