They went to the local before and after program to meet up with the bus. AND WHAT A BUS!! It was a double-decker open topped bus! Monkey and Big C clambered up to the top with grandma and mommy had the camera in hand to get all the action. They absolutely LOVED it! I'm sure that Big C is still saying 'bus, BUS, BUS!' right now.
They headed off north to Miller's Berry Farm and started off with a wagon ride. Pulled by a tractor none-the-less, so I'm sure that Big C was thrilled with it. They went off into the pumpkin patch and this is the story as far as I'm told:
Monkey: ' Grandma, I want a pumpkin. A big pumpkin'
Grandma ' Then let's find the biggest pumpkin that we can. You help me find it'
Monkey: ' This is it. The biggest pumpkin in the patch (and I believe that it is)'
Grandma: 'That's a fabulous pumpkin. Let me help you carry it'
Grandma thinking wow...this is one heavy pumpkin.
Grandma now thinking my goodness, this thing is enormous. I hope that the tractor is around here somewhere.
Needless to say the pumpkin did not fit into the shopping bag that the kids were told to bring, but it did squeeze into the wagon so that it could be walked home.
After this they went through the corn field, where I'm told that Monkey stopped to pee since it resembled a garden. Big C played in the corn and they each picked a piece to bring home for the dinner table - as a centrepiece not as food.
They rode back towards home and had their Thanksgiving day lunches. What a gorgeous day together with family. After 4 hours more sleep than usual daddy feels much better, but wishes that he could have been there too. We'll have to go again with the family.
