DPoD July 10th - Cooler Weather Brings out a Test Drive

Today the temperature really dropped. So much so in fact that Big C was wearing pants this morning. We had a great day all around. We went to the park to play a little soccer, had a little relay race, played the shoe game (a relay race where you have to put your shoes on and then race back, Monkey really liked it), had a freezie and made a craft. It was a great time. We then went to the play area and met up with some of Monkey's friends from his old before and after school program. He was really well behaved and had a great time.
We came home for lunch and it was still cool enough that we all wanted something warm. I suggested grilled cheese sandwiches on the walnut grain bread that I had picked up (it was soooo yummy) and the boys wanted soup with it. We broke out the mugs (sorry about the pun) and gave Big C his first soup in the new mug that he made with grandma. The boys were delighted to be using them!

We then had our afternoon naps / quiet times. Whew.

From there we did a little shopping, but on the way back saw that Ottawa Hydro was working in the area. We stopped for about 20 minutes while Big C was in total awe of the big crane trucks and the workmen. It was like Mighty Machines in real life!

Mommy and Mr. I came home and we had dinner. Attempt #1 didn't work, so we had fish n chips. It was super popular with Monkey as he out ate daddy! To follow up we had warm fresh cookies. Everyone really got into it - particulary Big C! Even Mr. I showed some enthusiasm about how delicious they were.
